Home for the Week

John was able to get the last week on May off so we went home.  We both had dentist appointments, John's was first and he had no cavities.  The pressure was on for me!  I went the next day and my teeth were good especially since I hadn't been in for a year and a half.  But they did have to fix one of my cavities...that doesn't count as a cavity right?
The next day I meet with our flourist, Laura.  She is five foot, blonde, and full of energy.  She had lots of ideas and was excited about everything!  I feel like that got the ball rolling.  That night we; as in me, my mom, and John; started on decorations.  

We had quite the system going: I would cover the string in our gooey mixture, John would pull it from me, and my mom would wrap the balloons.  We got 6 string balloons finished!

One of the days we went up to Ashton.  We got to play with Owen and Ed, see the new baby puppies, and rode horses.  It was a great 24 hours!

I love Ed telling Star "Ah" to keep her away from him, Ed touching the puppies and getting so excited, and Owen's evil laugh.  Just ignore the fact that Ed is running around the horse barn in his socks (no parents=no rules)

After a few hours the boys finally warmed up to John and had no problem "playing" with him.

Dad wanted us to see the improvements the dogs were making. Star actually downing-I'll give this one to him, it's a HUGE improvement!

Others like Newt aren't doing so well.  Oh and take notice of the naked sheep haha!

Pictures from the Cam

Every once in a while I unload all the pictures from my camera and I love to see what I've been up to.

First picture is my cute little nephew who I just love!

 Next is my crazy father with his newest hobby-training the dogs with sheep.  He cracks me up with the ideas he gets.  It all started when he decided to get turkeys.  Being the crazy he is, he trained the turkeys to come to a special whistle and they followed him around the yard when he would go outside.  It was kinda cute...I really miss the turkeys.  Well the next summer he needed a new thing to do and he chose wagon pulling.  He converted the war trailer into a wagon which it really turned out quite nice.  Luckily I wasn't there for the first pullings, but I've heard the stories...not pretty!  I'm surprised he's still alive along with the people he convinced it was a good idea to ride with him.  He now has it under control and the horses are pro.  I drove a few times and it's so fun!  When winter rolled around the wagon clearly wouldn't work in the snow, so instead of waiting for the snow to melt, he found a sleigh.  Oh my father!  But actually the sleigh is quite fun too if you can stand the cold long enough.  One time when John and I went to visit, we were just on top of the hill and Dad decided the snow was too deep and we needed to turn around.  Well the snow WAS too deep and the horses got stuck.  We even had the big horses on, Romeo and Tuff.  The snow was deep.  We had to unhitch the horses and pull them out.  John ripped the crotch of his pants in the process and the sleigh stayed up there til the snow melted a few feet.  If you know Ashton, the snow doesn't melt fast and I think my father was going through withdrawals without his sleigh.  So the latest, "the silence of the lambs" as my family refers to it. My dad wants aggressive dogs so when he moves cows they'll attack.  Well the poor sheep are not as sturdy as cows and they get ripped apart.  Viewer discretion is advised....

This is one of my favorites cause Star is a little bit crazy and just scatters the sheep.  This time she ran them into the horses' corral and they were not a fan.

Along with the sheep, he is selectively breeds the dogs to get a more aggressive offspring.  Here is the result from Tony and Tyson.  Pretty dang cute!

Back to my life in Logan... my lovely cousin/twin decided to referee basketball.  Where she got this idea I'm not sure, but it's a pretty good one.  My house dad Brady is a coach for one of the Junior High teams and it just so happens that she was refereeing one of his games.  Can you say two birds, one stone?  (My camera was having a bad day so the pictures were kinda blurry)

Pretty official yeah?  Yeah I'm proud. 

Next on my roll of film is the sheep barn.  Some of the girls in the sorority are in a sheep production class and while the ewes were lambing, they had to spend the night so they could check on them every hour.  Shylee was there one night and needed some entertainment.  So we "brought her movies"  which translates to me seeing all the babies :)

John was nice enough to give up 5 hours to come to Sadie's Junior Miss.  It was a long night, but Sadie did great so it was worth it!

Main Course: Procrastination With A Side Of Justification And For Dessert: Colter's Wedding Weekend. Enjoy!

So I have a paper due on Tuesday and lots of studying to be done before finals, but naturally I am procrastinating yet again. It is NOT natural however for me to be blogging..seeing as this is my first post, but I thought I should give it a try since all my other procrastinating resources have been exhausted. Let's just say I'm getting my "creative juices" flowing so when I do write my paper, it'll be that much better!

Well my life has been crazy, but at the same time I feel like I haven't done much. I'm only taking 13 credits, the least I've taken since I've been at college, but I feel like I'm lot more busy. School, Alpha Chi, and John pretty much take up all my time and I try to fit in work and family. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm pretty happy how things are going in my little bubble of life.

I finally have a wedding date-July 21st and can't wait. Planning is non-existent so if you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! Tarrah texts me pictures she finds and I love it! Pretty sure Kera's grades have suffered because of stalking weddings for ideas for me. On the bright side, I have a dress and bridesmaid dresses, so the girls are covered! I found shoes this weekend while we were in Utah (and yes I know that I live in Utah, but I don't accept that reality and all my life "going to Utah" meant shopping in Salt Lake) I found some at Nordstrom.

But I also found pumps that I have wanted for months!! I can't decide if I want those too knowing my feet will hurt and change into the flats or just stick with the flats so that hemming my dress will be easier...but look at how cute and so me they are!

Right?! SO CUTE!!! I love them both, but I don't want to look like a fool walking in them because everything is outside and on grass which makes walking in heels super difficult.

Caitie took our engagements and I can't wait to see them! Cait is seriously the best photographer and I'm obsessed with her photos and her! It was so great seeing her and I really miss her in my life!

Colter's wedding was great! It was so nice to get away from the stress of Logan to be with my family. Kera and I stopped at Jeannie's house on the way to Salt Lake to see the Clark's. I love the craziness of my family. The dynamics just kill me! I won't lie, mainly I just wanted to see my nephews and niece. I love them more than anything and love being with them. Owen and Tucker were jumping on the tramp when I got there. I ran out to see them and as I got closer, Tucker yelled out, "Are you Torie?" And when I got on the tramp he had very specific instructions on how I had to jump. Those two are probably the funniest boys I have ever met. By the time I wimped out from the cold, it was hailing and they were eating it off the tramp. We went and saw the piglets with my dad and Taylor. Last time John and I visited, they had pigs and we tried to ride them-oh the things the Clark's think of! When we got back to the house we started to get ready for the dinner and the madness began. I just love the stress of my family. Everyone is trying to get ready, my dad is telling us we have to go, Julie is cutting Carson and Colter's hair, the boys don't want to change, piling everyone in cars-love it all! The dinner was at a Chinese restaurant in Bountiful and it was crammed! We had so many people there and it was hectic! After dinner I went to the hotel with Talon where we made hot chocolate what seemed like every time we passed the coffee counter and watched Say Yes to the Dress. We ate breakfast the next morning with Grandma and Grandpa Raybould and Kathy and Todd. I love breakfast at hotels. It is one of my favorite things. The parents got ready and left and Talon and I were left to get ready and meet them at the temple. Of course my hair hated me since it knew there would be pictures and by the time we got to the temple they were already out...oops! After pictures, Grandma and Grandpa Raybould and Dusty and Hailey met us at In and Out. LOVED IT!! Then we went back to the hotel and slept then got ready again for the reception. More pictures then I went to Jared's lacrosse game with my dad and the kids. Owen and I froze but it was fun. Back at the reception we ate and they danced. I went to Becky's house with Julie, Carson, Megan, and Kennedie to play cards and fill Easter baskets. My mom picked me up to take me back to the hotel. More hot chocolate and finally sleep! It felt like we didn't do much but we were all exhausted! The next day we went shopping and ate at The Cheesecake Factory. I finally got home at seven and was so happy to have today to recoup!
